I am just blown away by the response to our movie night. What started out as a passing conversation after Sunday’s tear down 3 weeks ago has turned into something amazing. I have been getting calls about it everyday since last Friday. I came home about an hour ago from passing out flyers and stopped by Gary’s Place to replenish their supply. I gave them 100 flyers last Saturday and they only had about 5 left. I walked around and passed out about 2 or 3 before I met a guy named Dave. He took my stack and passed them out to everyone in the place. As I was leaving, I heard a big shout out on their loudspeaker about the event and I even heard a cheer or two.

We picked up the boys’ gear today and practice starts on Monday night. The boys are fired up & ready to play. I get a kick out of seeing them in their pads and showing them how to put them on and use them. For a few minutes, it was like I was back playing again. Ahhh nostalgia.
Spring Hill Raiders have really got a great program for the kids. I’ve already received many emails and been informed on most everything that’s coming up. I thought about coaching, but decided against it this year. Being their first year and all, I want them to have fun & learn without dad being there as a safety net.
Brianne will be cheering this year. She has a few friends on the team that live in our subdivision. They’ve already said that they would help her learn the cheers and dances.
It’s gonna be a great year at the Hopson household. Hopefully, we’ll get to see a Tennessee game or two this year.

My friends Joe & Dave will be standing in line for it. Will you?
If you haven’t read it yet, you seriously have to go and read this post by Perry Noble.
It’s great to be back from vacation. On Friday, we hiked to Charlie’s Bunion on a clear day and had a guy take the picture below. After the hike, we drove and watched fireworks all the way home.

On Sunday morning, I drove into the parking lot to see police cars and the lot beside us roped off as a crime scene. The first thing I thought of was Gary’s post and hoped nothing happened to us too. It turned out that someone broke into Laser Mania’s building and stole their Wii’s, a bunch of change, and some other things that have value on the street. Needless to say it was a crazy start to a Sunday morning. Our final week of One Prayer ended with Steven Furtick’s message of Make Us Audacious.

Today we hiked 1.5 miles to this beautiful waterfall. It took about 45 minutes to hike it and was beside a stream the whole time. Once there, we took our shoes off and stepped in the freezing water. Dalten collected rocks, Cody threw them, and Brianne splashed us all.
Tomorrow, we leave for Cherokee, Newfound Gap, and finally home. Maybe we can get one more hike in before the vacation’s done. Who knows?

So our church meets about 100′ from a pub. I’ve been in Gary’s Place a few times to hang out with Gary and meet people. Gary is the person that recommended our guitarist to come and play for us. He’s just a great all around guy that I like to chat with. In July, Gary’s Place and Elevation Church is partnering together for an event that we hope will be awesome. I’ll share more about that when I return from our family’s camping trip.
There’s been lots of discussion in the blogosphere lately about christians drinking beer, churches meeting in bars, does Jesus belong in a pub, would jesus have a beer with me, and many many others. The list of sites discussing this issue is huge. I have huge respect for each person I linked to because they’re bringing this subject out in the open.
What’s your thoughts on the subject? I’d love to hear them.

We’re sitting in the McDonald’s across from Biltmore. It’s the prettiest one I’ve ever seen.
Some things heard in the car so far:
Alicia: “Give me the bird”
Cody after drinking Cheerwine: “That’s the best drink ever.”
More to come
